Talha ibn Ubaydullah was born around 594 CE in Makkah into the Banu Taym clan of the Quraysh, the same clan as Abu Bakr As-Siddiq. His father was Ubaydullah ibn Uthman.
He grew up in a merchant family and was known for his intelligence and noble bearing from an early age. Talha became involved in trade as a young man, traveling on commercial journeys to different regions.
